New Delhi: Ali Abbas Zafar, the director of films like 'Gunday', 'Tiger Zinda Hai' and 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' has obtained the rights to remake the super hit action franchise 'The Transporter' which starred Jason Statham in the lead. According to a Pinkvilla report, the remake rights were acquired at a hefty price.

"Ali has been wanting to make The Transporter in Hindi for a while now and after prolonged discussions with the international studio, EuropaCorp, he has bagged the rights to make it in Hindi for a hefty amount. Ali will be directing the film himself and is excited to write the script for the Hindi speaking audience," a source close to the publication said.

"The movie will be made with an A-List actor star of Bollywood... But the casting will be made once Ali is done with the work of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. He has already zeroed in on a couple of names, but it will all eventually boil down to the dates of actors," Pinkvilla's source added.

As of now, Ali is shooting 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan', with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. Ali also has an untitled film with Shahid Kapoor next and then perhaps the remake of 'The Transporter'.

It is being touted that Shahid’s film will be titled ‘Bloody Daddy’ and will uncover the story of incidents that happen over the course of a single night.

According to Pinkvilla, the Shahid Kapoor film is in the post-production stage and a release date will be decided soon.
